More info, I contacted the customer and she said this happend
twice before. Both times the guage went all the way around to
the BOTTOM of the rest peg, The battery was disconnected.
The last time it happend, another repair shop only changed the battery. Next question is, how do I convince her I am not at fault for this, even though this has happend before? She will here
nothing of it, and wont pay for diagnostics of the guage problem or parts that may be included with this. She wants it fixed, and wont pay for the intake job if I don't correct the guage problem for free.

i own a repair shop and i,ll tell you how to get it to go back down to where it should be,turn the key on and pull the fuse for the gages while they key is on the hand will fall,and then cut the key off,and then install the fuse back in it for the gages i have had the same problem before,that should re-set it ,good luck.How is the octane tested in gasoline and is there a way for the public to test what they purchase?

you know these gm cars has floating guages,and where ever its at when you shut the switch off,thats where it will stay,until you turn the switch back on.its probably the sending unit stuck.do like dodge man says and the guage should start working again.More Questions & Answers ...
