Why can't we ban SUV's because of health reasons? I drive a very small fuel efficient convertible automobile. My cigarettes might kill you in, oh say, 20 - 30 years, but your SUV will kill me in 2 seconds while you chat away on your cell phone and your kids scream in the back seat.

It is a bit judgmental - maybe we should ban 18 wheel trucks too. They have a number of accidents and can kill you too. Oh wait.. how would you get your cigarettes at the store if the trucks don't bring them to you. Seems like you have too many inconveniences in your life...so sorry. Go have a smoke and calm down.

We banned cigarette smoking because people love to complain about something. First lets ban cigarette smoking, and now lets ban trans fat in foods, next we'll ban something else ridiculously stupid.

I agree with you 100%. If someone doesn't like the cigarette smoke then they could always move away from the cigarette smoker. It's not always that easy to move out of the way of a speeding SUV, where the driver isn't paying attention to what they are doing.The banning of cigarettes is a do nothing act that will only help a very small number of people. Alcohol is a much bigger killer of people, families, etc.. but they have good PR.

That's because anti-smoking campaigners are able to complain louder than normal people with no chip on their shoulder. And so people listen and feel guilty for smoking. And if its so ******* damaging to their health why did I never get stoned from someone smoking a joint in the same room? Its ******* bullshit you can make up any ******* statistic you're PAID to see in a "scientific" study, and its been drummed into us so much we ******* believe it. A smoker breathes their own second hand smoke, so obviously the effect they get is the same as the non-smoker PLUS actually smoking the cigarette, and I'm supposed to believe its "nearly as dangerous to your health" as smoking??
