Appeal bus lane fine? what are the laws?

Question:
I was in a bus lane on a Saturday. ALL the bus lanes were mon-fri. THEN all of a sudden the sign posted said mon-sat... a bus and a van were infront of me and i didn't see the sign until about 5m into the bus lane (that only because i was trying to get out!).
NO where was a sign saying that cameras are being used.
Along that same road there are many spots where you can "enter" the bus lane but there is no sign to indicate its hours of operation.
Some signs along that road are blocked by traffic lights, trees, other signs.

I was fined and I appealed. I have to show up infront of adjucator 2007. WHAT ARE THE LAWS THAT COUNCILS MUST FOLLOW REGARDING SIGNS? ANYONE SUGGEST REASONS FOR APPEAL IN MY CASE? WHAT SHOULD I TAKE AS EVIDENCE?

The signs have to be consistant. The council are soley responsible for this and if you win your case because of this fact I would contact your local newspaper as there will be many motorist caught out by this shoddy and NOT uncommon council error.

PIRANHA get a life and a highway code. Most bus/cycle lanes are now operating on a part time basis with times of operation on blue signs as you get close to the lane.

well i think that the council have to make it clear that they have changed the times on the bus lane. if they have done this then you have no case. you could point out that the signs are not clearly visible as by law they have to be. I think if you google it you will probably find help there.

Just pay up and stop whingeing next time don't drive in a bus lane at anytime. buses are more important because they carry more people so are more environmentaly friendly per person than a car.
