Yes. If you chose to build an internal combustion engine, like in a car, it could not run long or make much power. It would get too hot after running more than a few seconds and the seal neccesary to contain the explosion within the combustion chamber would be too difficult to maintain with plastic cylinders and pistons. A steam driven engine would be easier and more durable. I would build a turbine style as opposed to a piston and valve set up for the same reasons listed above.
