Does towing a car add miles to the car's odometer?

If you have a car that is front wheel drive, and tow it while leaving the back two wheels on the ground (like your standard tow truck will do), will the miles towed be added to the car's odometer?

On allot of todays cars the odometer will still count the towing miles pending the way it is towed. Not all vehicles use a speed sensor for the odometer miles. 90% of vehicles with a digital odometer use a speed sensor! The others is through the transmission.

no.the odometer is connect to the trany on cars from 1898 and up it is a sensor that is connect to the cars computer and will not register unless the key is on

Different vehicle have the speedometer hooked up in different ways. I have a VW the speedometer runs off the front wheel. Most vehicles the speedometer runs off the transmission. To keep it from registering on the speed.head just disconnect the drive shaft.
