American stick shift cars?

Question:
Does all american cars have a stick shift and is it like an automatic car in the uk?is it similar to manual in the uk

Answers:

Help!! will I ever be able to drive it?

A stick shift transmission in the US is the same as in the UK - the shift pattern is the same - the drivers just sit on opposite sides of the shifter. Your left foot operates the clutch in both countries. I have never driven an automatic transmissioned car in the UK. When I drove an automatic in Australia, the transmission shifter and pattern were the same as in the US.
