In most cases, diesel is just diesel. There really isn't that much you can do to it to make it that much different. And when 2007 standards take effect, all diesel fuel will be identical until someone comes up with an additive package they can brand.

I'd even start getting away from the myth that name brand gasolines are so much better. They really aren't. Even the off 'brand' gasolines use very similar additive packages to the 'branded' ones. If it made that much of a difference, the brand names would be charging a premium for their additive packages, and in my area of the country, nearly every seller has identical prices.
