2006 Honda Accord transmission fluid.?

Question:
My owners manual states that I can only use Honda transmission fluid in my Accord. It goes on to say that irregular shifting and transmission damage will result. Is there a dextron transmission fluid that can be substituted? In the past I used it in my 93 Civic and had no problem. Am I right in thinking that Honda is just trying to push their own product? Because the transmission in my new car is of a different design I'm unsure about using the dextron.
