it shold do an average of about 17 to the gallon,however you wold if you did it right put jst enough fuel in to get you to France where the feul is cheaper and fill tank there.Coupled to ferry costs i would get in touch with an english firm who run spanish traffic and get them to pick it up it would probably be cheaper.

If it's modern (Mercedes Atego, Daf CF, MAN TG) something around 15-18mpg is quite feasible.
If it's an old wagon with worn injectors and fuel pump, you'll be lucky to see 10 to the gallon...
