Is there any way to do a good launch off the line while racing an automatic transmission?

Question:
If ur racing a car that has automatic with tiptronic is it possible for you do do any kind of special launch? Liek can u rev the engine to a certain rpms in nuetral and slam it into drive ? or will u drop ur transmission like that? and if you have tiptronic can you shift from nuetral to first gear in tiptronic mode ( if your car has a nuetral for tiptronic mode) ( im driving an audi a4 2.0t quattro)

Awesome you have all wheel drive, if you like the A4 you would love the S4. Basically you can power brake, don't do the neutral drop that can kill your car in a hurry. You also have a Turbo, so to get max power off the line simply hold the brake all the way to the floor and push the gas until the turbo spools up don't let the car move until you're ready to launch. Then simply release the brake and floor the gas. The S4 will spin all 4 tires when you do this. It's awesome.

Just floor it, go easy at first so you don't spin out. autos are complicated mechanically, but very simple to drive. They're also better for launching than a manual, because they're so consistent.
