I bought a Hypertech tuner for my '97 truck. They recommend premium fuel. Can't I use Regular??

Question:
Will it start pinging if I use regular with the modifications? It is supposed to increase fuel mileage. Won't that savings be lost if I have to use Premium fuel?

You can use regular...your truck will ping initially..then your trucks power-train control module will comensate and retard your timing so it will run on regular... that means your Hypertech programmer is not more or less gonna be working to it's potential..so.you will have just wasted your money on the programmer. In order to make power, you need good fuel.
