why do people ask such stupid questions on this thing?
Don't think they touch your rims...Whats the difference between a 16"x7 rim and a 16"x10 rim?
They will if your tires are flat otherwise if you are in doubt and have nice rims don't use the chainsanyone know of any used car sites that rock?
they shouldn't. be sure they are tight and excess links are removed. also go slowTo my American friends : why don't you like driving with a stick shift?
yes quite often they can if they come loose. and if they do come totally loose the least of your problem will be the rimsWho knows the best first car? (Good gas mileage and no more than 3000$?
Chains will only damage your rims if your tires go flat, and even then, they will only damage your tires if you drive for a long time on asphalt with them or drive at higher-than-recommended speeds described by the tire manufacturer.can somebody help me find data on gas prices from 1998 to 2006 in san antonio?
Only if installed improperly. I have seen improperly installed chains not only tear up rims but pull axels off of cars and trucks. Be sure to completely read and understand your instructions that come with your chains. take some time (Before your in that blizzard) to practice putting on and removing the chains. drive about 30 feet to make sure you have installed them correctly. You will not have damage as long as the chains are the correct size for the tires in which they are to be used with, and you maintain correct tire pressure. Also when using tire chains, they are not intended for high speed traveling.
If you are concerned with having to put chains on your tires I would highly recommend you pick up a set of snow tires on some steel wheels then you won't have to worry should the chains slip or come loose.
Regardless of tires used - MOST importantly test fit the chains prior to their use to ensure they fit properly - it your chains are too big they WILL slip off the tire and potentially come into contact with your rims.
What Car? Bugatti Veron Or Zonda F?
cheap wheels are 40 bucks each. you have th snow tires mounted on them you can put them on yourself when there's a snow. it's easier putting on four wheels than snow chains. take them off when the snow is gone and nobody has to touch your rims and they stay nice and clean in the garage. nothing worse than losing control at 5 mph but just enough to slide into the curb and bend your nice rim.no, not if the chains are close to the correct size. If you run radial tires, be sure you have the correct size. Old chains used on bias ply tires have a tendency to wear the side walls of radials.
Do I need to warm up my car during the winter months?
To save you asking radial tires flex more than the old bias ply, it the chains are to hi up on the side walls of the radials the chains will scuff and wear the side walls.
