i think the U.S. is overfilled with too damn much laws and taxes that hold us back from producing quality products as well as in advancing in affordable technology. Other countries arent as strict and are able to make profit while maintaining high quality..Thats why i wont buy an american car...you buy it brand new and approximately 1 year later you'll see that oil puddle under your car. They do. I have three no problems with them at all If the Asian are the best from what problems I see with the cars my friends have I will take second best all the time.The trouble with American cars is all they have is little toy cars with wrong wheel drive and stupid over sized pickups and Suv's.For the US companies to catch up, they first need to get out of the tremendous debt cause by retire worker health care. Other developed nations don't deal with this problem because the government pays for health care. Then US companies need to invest more automated, and precise factories, better materials, and hire smarter people. Smart people are hard to come by in the US (I do a lot of hiring, I know.), which is mainly the fault of our sub-standard and underfunded K-12 public education system. So as you can see, there are quite a few major problems that US needs to work out from the legal, government side, before US car companies can really compete.
