Is there any way to install a DVD system in my car without taking out the original radio that came with the car? I went to stores like best buy and circuit city and they told me it cant be done ... plz help ..

i own a repair shop,and they told you right ,you would have to at least take the original radio out just to wire if for sound,you,d need access to the speaker wires at least,you could actually mount the DVD player anywhere in the vehicle,but you will have to remove the radio temporarily,good luck,i hope this help,s.you can, but the problem is the the factory radio doesn't have inputs for sound from an external source. if you want to buy a portable dvd player made for the car you can use one of those cd-tape adapters to get the sound from your stock radio, that is if it has a tape deck. the other more costly way- get the in-dash dvd player, a wired remote source selector, an amp to power it, and someone who will rewire the stock speakers to the amp. the in-dash dvd player then can be connected to the amp. the speakers will play the audio from the radio or dvd when you use the selector to chance between them.
Personaly i say just get the in-dash dvd player and let the store install it the way it was ment to be. if your afraid of the warrenty on your car being voided because of the work, don't. the installer must be MECP certified to do car intalls. that means they are certified to do it the way the factory would if they had, and wont void the warrenty. if your afraid that you wont get the factory radio back, ask them if you can keep it for a reinstall at a later time.

Yes you can! You would have to mount it in the celling or in the head rests! However they might have to pull the radio to connect the DVD player to the radio, then reinstall it.Do you ever wonder what time the other drivers left their house to drive on the highway?
