Question:
Will damage occur to the system or motor?
Answers:
Why does France still have Renault, Peugeot and Citroen but Britain now has no car industry?
Regular antifreeze and inhibited antifreeze are not compatible. You may or will get separation and gelling of the silicone compounds.
If you've ever seen this it looks like creepy movie goo.
Just ask any GM owner that has had to rep[lace their heater core because that supposed 100,000 mile stuff dropped out of suspension and clogged the thing up.
A lot of the people around here, when it comes time just flush that red crap out and put Prestone back in, at least it doesn't eat your intake manifold from the inside and turn into goo.
Now that weird redishsbrownishgreenish stuff that Toyota used lasted forever.
You can mix the yellow with the red, but not the green. if you do it it will turn to jelly. You can flush the system and just put green in.
What were the attractions called on the side of the higways back in the fifties and sixties?
there may be a chemical imbalance and it can cause corrosion in the coling system or even cause the system to clog . best thing is to flush system and use recomended coolantWhat are the stupid little dolls (cry-babies) that people put next to their cars at car shows?
They aren't supposed to be compatible. I've never tried it to see what happened... and I wouldn't want to experiment. I have had problems with the red, DEXCOOL type of antifreeze. I found that if ANY air got into the system.. or it was just a little low, rusty sludge developed and clogged the coolant passages. I spent a few hours flushing that out of the system. Not wanting to go through that again, I refilled the system with the green, Prestone type anti-freeze, and never had another problem with it. Personally, I don't like the red stuff, and have heard from many people (including mechanics) that there are more problems with it. I don't know if changing to the green stuff would violate your warranty, but by the time you have any problems ... the warranty is usually long gone. Can u tell me about the Uk driving licence?
