When to shift my NON-TURBO 1992 Eagle Talon for optimum performance?

Question:
I've got a 92 Eagle Talon NON-TURBO that puts out about 135 horsepower (at 6000 rpm) and 125 torque (at 4800 rpm). I've been looking all over the internet for a power graph that shows me where the two cross so I know when to shift the car for maximum acceleration. The only thing I can find is a graph (and TONS of articles) on the turbo version! I don't care about the turbo version, I don't have it and can't afford it and I'm dumping this car this summer anyway. Still, the non-turbo 16 valve dohc 2.0 litre engine has some balls to it, but nothing extremely impressive.

What ever happened to the rotary engine that had so much hope about 30 years ago in the past?

When do I shift this car? Do I take her up to 6000 rpm to get the horses, or shift after 4800 to prevent torque drop? It SEEMS the higher I ago above 5000 the less acceleration I get, but I can't bet on it. 4700 is the optimum shift point for the TSI turbo version, but it gets much more torque at 3000 rpm, so I'm not sure if it's applicable or not.

What diesel cars can you use pure veg oil in without nakering the engine, im told mercs are good?

I could really use the input! Thanks!

My driving test is on wednesday!!?

You shouldn't need to watch the tach to know when to shift for maximum performance, the car should tell you, and then it should become second nature after you drive it enough.

The easiest thing to do is feel things out gear by gear - and turn off the radio so you can hear the engine rev. At what point does first feel like it's maxed? The car will let you know, and then you can learn the feeling/sound and shift at that point.

If you're talking about timing for the sake of clutchless up-shifting, that's another story. However, unless you know how to rebuild transmissions, I wouldn't venture down that path as you will definitely strip some gears in getting the timing down.

What do i do now?

That was an impress when I heard your performance but I wouldn't be crazy to drive that car like you have been do cause I love my car... I don't want to destroy mine by that much RPM unless I have a shitty junk automobile... I have never let my RPM higher than 3500 all my life... sorry man... you are asking the wrong man.
