gas is hard as hell to get out, that and paint thinner. the stench stays forever and ever even after multiple washes. to get it out of your trunk you would need to rent a shampooer and give it many many cycles and just re-do it about three times. that should help.open your trunk and let it air out. doors to if you think it will help.
