Question:
I own my truck and live in Ga wanting to pull or haul containers from the Ship Ports in Savannah, Ga, Jacksonville, Fl and Charleston, SC. What documents are needed?
Answers:
How do you drive a stick shift?
In addition to what "Rusty" told you, once you do start pulling containers, make sure you do a detailed inspection of both the container, and the chassis as you check out of the port. KEEP all the sign out paper work you get for at least a year. Container companies have a bad habit of sending you an invoice for "damage repair" many months after you return the container and chassis to the port. Good luck, and make lots of money.Check with a local CFS (Container Freight Station) for O/O opportunities... they will set you up with a contract and take care of the Homeland Security paperwork to get you cleared to enter the ports ! Have a copy of your insurance and license ready when you go to apply !
