I recently took my Denali to wal-mart and had them change all the fluids. I'm sure they put in some generic oil. Does this realy matter at all?

Explain why traffic congestion is a classic example of the problem of externalities?
There are cheaper brands and more expensive national brands and sometimes what your are paying for is advertising. When you go to many quick lubes and dealer service places and request a certain brand they will nod their heads and put that on a ticket and you don't know what they put in, thats from personal experience. They be flying a big Quaker State or Penzoil banner but who knows what they are pumping out of those big bulk tanks. Works the same for dealers who make a big point out of telling you to use their brand of motor oil...when it comes out of a bulk tank it can be anything they want it to be.

So look for the specification on the oil, make sure it meets your manufacturers recommendations and if something works good for you then you can be brand loyal. Mostly conventional motor oil is motor oil.

Why must the wheel lug nuts be loosened before the car is jacked up off the floor?
if you took your car to, of all places, wal-mart. then it doesnt matter cuz you dont care about your car anyways! haha.. at least take it to a Pep Boys, at the least... or do it yourself.. mnore satisfaction and know -how (you'll look car savvy)I noticed when I get to 85mph my power flattens out. Is that the way it is with most of you?
depends on what the weight is for the oilOil is just about marketing, these days you have no idea where the base stock came from and once its refined it really does not matter, all mineral based oils meet the same performance criteria. Synthetics perform better through a wider range of temperatures, they flow faster after a cold start up and cook off at a much higher temperature, therefore less sludge build up.
