I want to take my car to england?

Question:
im goin to lancaster,u.k. this summer for 2 months.i really want to take my brand new 2007 mustang gt.how much will it cost?
do the english cops take the speed limit seriously? i mean if i get caught doing 250kph on whatever highways they got,is that a big deal? will they buy the "im just a stupid american and dont understand the metric system" arguement? i know the canadian rcmp didnt buy it when i told her that i thought kph meant mph,(i was doing 120mph in a 140kph zone).
should i send it on a plane or boat? do i have to have it inspected by the english cops,or just get in and drive?

Tinted windows ticket?

The roads in England are unfortunately still stuck on miles and miles per hour. The police tend to be quite strict about speeding. There are speed cameras all over the place and the fines are quite steep. Also, roads that have no signed speed limit in fact do (not like Germany). On single carriageways it's 60 mph. On dual carriageways it's 70 mph. This means, don't go faster than 70. In urban areas it's 30. Also, passing is done strictly on the right and it is a ticketable offence to drive in the passing lane without passing.

Which is more efficient in consumption,v8 turbo diesel i.e,4200 cc or V6 3500cc unleaded car engine?

I would not recommend using an American car on British roads. The roads are narrower so a smaller car is handy. A small car is also more fuel efficient which is important when fuel is almost 1 pound per litre. Another reason is that you will be on the wrong side of the car, making right turns and overtaking more difficult and dangerous. Your American driving licence will be valid for up to 6 months in the UK.

We don't use metric system - still mph and yes, they do take it seriously . Just get in and drive but remember, we drive on the left so it might not be easy for you

What types of fuels can cause Backfires ?

well about speedin the cops would be stricked but if you go to the ISLE OF MAN which is a place over there there are no speed limits so go as fast as u can with out crashing. when you get over there you have to sort out some insurence stuff for you r car but either than that you should be able to just hop into your car and drive...

Renting a car and type of licence?

Go to the UK Embassy's website. They will have such information. Your shipping cost should be around 1500 dollars. You will be allowed to take your car in temporarily depending on your visa status. If you will be working there, then you can have your car for a longer period of time. And don't mess around with the local laws or make lame excuses or the cops will think you are a stupid American. Most brits think americans are stupid anyway so please don't go around proving them right.
