go to this website, www.mythbusters.com, they did a segement about it. they tested the theory and proved the camera is faster than the car and now aftermarket blocker actually works to block out your plate number. and besides, the camera gets you coming and going at the same time.. so they have a visual picture of who is driving the vehicle.Why not just stick to the speed limit.

Detectors are illegal, and probably only detect AFTER the speed camera has got you!GPS devices (Inforad, road angel, tomtom &c.) are legal but only indicate the known camera sites. Temporary road works sites, mobile camera vans and so on are not detected.
