Question:
I'm 22, just finished Uni and am lookign for a new car. I'd like a classic sports car, 60s/70s era, preferably something a little more unusual than an MGB/ GT6, and maybe a bit more powerful, but something in this general area. My budget is £12,000.
Any ideas? Thanks!
PS, I'm in the UK so no USA cars please!

If you are prepared for the expense of running a 30 year old car then I would have a look in this show room. They have the finest examples of most classic cars.

I would go for an old BMW M5 which can be accommodated in your budget but be aware of cost of insurance and repairs if you can manage go for itIf not buy something new reliable and free of hassle and avoid sports/performance cars because LIFE IS PRECIOUS AND LONG so don't try making it short or worthless for yourself and those who love you
Try an older Lotus Esprit, very nice car, very sporty, exotic and very very powerful. You should be able to get one in that price range.

Depends on what you want the car for too - going to work, towing, highway driving etc? A car bought on passion without considering the other costs (fuel, insurance, as someone else has mentioned, as well as repairs and the availablity of parts is a huge factor in buying a used car, especially a more "sporty" one).
What is a Class B CDL/w Hazmat and air brakes? What does that mean?
£12,000 might get you a decent Sunbeam Tiger. It looks just like the Alpine, which was a rival for the MGB and Triumph TR series, but it has a Ford V8 engine under the bonnet.
A decent Alpine would be about £6k to £8k, depending on condition and specification - some were upgraded to 120bhp with a "Holbay" kit, but are less suited to everyday use.
How do I take a sticker off a car window?
Good luck with this one. Why do you want an old clunker that will cost a lot in repairs and will not be that reliable? Some of cars mentioned above were not regarded as much good when bought new. I dread to think what a 30 year old one will be like!
One of my friends does these things up and sells them on at a profit. Loads of customers come back to moan about faults. They had faults when new especially TRs and MGBs so these design faults have not vanished with age, its just that mugs think they are part of the vehicles character.
I just hit the back of a SUV when driving.?

When insuring use limited mileage policy and won't need to blow whole budget either that should cover your car a spare run around to keep mileage down and your insurance ..SHOP WISELY ! GOOD LUCK
