NO, not with today's modern engines. Warmiong up the engine just wastes fuel, the only good reason to ever do it is if you need hat air for hte defroster or something.How many people think that a Lexus is underrated?
if it is cold out sideabsolutely, the engine needs to warm the oil to help it run smoother. At low temps oil is thicker and harder to run through your engine. Your vehicle should get a minute or two, depending on the make,model and year, carb or fuel injection, etc...

I do know that one should as the oil is thick and needs to warm to lubricate the engine.Yes it is a good idea to let the vehicle warm up. It doesn't have to reach full temperature but a couple of minutes when it is cold to get the fluids moving is good.
