I want to go with red tint but am unsure if it will be dark enough to suit me. It occured to me that I might add a second layer inside to darken the window.
What are your thoughts about this?

I own a window tint company so I should be able to answer your question. First of all, colored tint, like red, is very unstable and will breakdown quickly. That means it will either bubble up and peel or start turning clear within a few months, I dont recommend that. As far as layering your tint. It voids any kind of warranty the film carries so I dont recommend that either. You can do it if you want, but be prepared to spend a bunch of money to get it. My partner has an RL that I put 2 layers of 5% on the front and 3 layers on the back doors and back window. He hasnt had any problems other than getting pulled over all the time. Most shops wont layer tint, so I would recommend just getting one layer dark tint, but if you have to get red tint with a layer of tint over that, talk to the owner and offer to pay cash. And go to a small tint shop. Bigger tint shops wont want to mess with you, but smaller shops never turn away business. Hope this helps.Do I need a special drivers license for driving a Class A RV? usually if you do this you,ll get a bubble in it you cant get out of it,,that's why most people don't even try it ,,its not really a good idea,to do this,i have seen a few people do this,,and it usually turns out bad,,i wouldn't waste my time and money on doing it,,good luck hope this help,s.More Questions & Answers ...
