Question:
What is the best or easiest vehicle to deliver USPS mail in? My daughter will have to provide her own vehicle.
Answers:
How hot can the trunk of your car get?
A right hand drive mail truck :)Just got in an accident no insurance help!?
the best would be a SUV of some sort not a huge one med size. There is nothing like being cramped in a little tiny car for 8 hours. My PA driver's permit expired..what now?
A jeep- that is what our carriers use around here. We live in Northern Puget Sound in Washington, good luck.I used to deliver mail and had my own vehicle. I had one of those old mail vehicles that the steering wheel was on the right side. It was ok, but we live where theres alot of snow and ice, and they are terrible in those conditions. I would look for some type of small SUV that doesnt have much of a console, because she will have to sit on the passenger side, and use her left foot for gas and breaking. If you live in a warmer climate, any smaller car would work ok. Have her try it out first before buying.
Is it a myth that you must warm your vehicle's engine before driving?
I've seen carriers driving in thier everyday cars, so I think it really wouldn't matter what she drives..(if she has a vehicle already, great! no sense in buying a new car/suv until she decides she wants to stay with the position)The basic requirements are an automatic transmission, a bench seat or something close to it, adequate capacity for carrying a normal volume of mail, and 4WD unless you live in an area where it never snows.
I am a 16 year old trying to buy a car...any suggestions??
One of the few vehicles that meets that standard is the RHD Jeep Cherokee, which is no longer manufactured. One can find them used on ebay or through the NRLCA magazine classifieds. Your daughters best bet is to go into the office where she wants to be hired and talk to the carriers.
Where can I buy a good kids gocart cheaply for international mail order?
I disagree with the idea that you shouldn't buy another vehicle until you are sure you want the job. Without an adequate vehicle, you have no chance of making it through the probation, especially this time of year.
