Some snow tires can't be studded, yet claim to be as good as studded...is this really true?

Question:
Michelin X-Ice tires are one of such tires.

Answers:

Where can I find a site selling adapters to fit bike engines to car transmissions?

Yes. A lot of areas are banning studded tires.

With a route restricted drivers license...?

yes

Carfax report has only the Vin# and two notes about an Audi that appear at 51,600 miles. Legit or Grey Markt?

They should have special grips on them.

would you get a hybrid?

the x-ice has a very high silica compound in the tire. The also have a large number of sipes which react in a couple different ways. as the tire rolls down the road the sipes act like a suction cup the spread open and allow better traction. the also help to "clean " the tire expelling snow slush and water. DO not be fooled however. NO tire made is good in icy conditions. snow tires whether studded or not are better than the average tire in the winter months but you still need to use caution.
