Vehicle Inspection Check?

Question:
My car was written off as a class c, i have now repaired the damage that was done and want to put it back on the road. Will it be illegal if i took the car back on the road without a VIC? I will be putting it through an MOT and taxing it and getting it insured but just dont want to wait any longer.

once a car has been written off it needs to be reclassified. you will be given a new reg plate usually a q plate.
if you don't inform the dvla you will be prosecuted for driving an unroadworthy car, even if it has a full m o t.

the way the new m o t works now in the UK though it should be picked up at the garage that is is a write off.
hope you get it sorted, it is a pain, that's why nobody bothers repairing a write off.

You need to inform the DVLA and they will tell where and when to take the car also you need to inform your insurance company of the V notificationwhen you put it back on the road otherwise they will invalidate any other claim you may have. Take advice otherwise it could cost you your licence and if god forbid you injure someone a large law suit Bide your time it don"t take that long

My heart goes out to you. In one way or the other a lot of us have gone though this sort of thing. I do agree with others, driving it before getting everything in order could cost you dearly.
As was pointed out before, you really need to follow all the rules on this. Hopefully you can get it sorted rather quickly.
