Question:
I have to get home from work tonight and the roads are covered in solid ice. I was using my 4 wheel drive on the way to work and was sliding around a lot. I have two sets of chains that I can use, but I noticed that some people only had the front chained, while others had the back chained... which should I do? I have to drive up and down a lot of hills... should I chain them all?

Why do you think manhole covers are round?
If you have a full set chain all four if not front with four high engagedwhere is the first blacktop road in the world?
Chain the driven wheels. I'd chain all four if there's any chance of seeing any more snow. You might choose not to chain the none-driven wheels in 2wd, but given the choice I'd do all four. A good reason for only chaining one axle is lack of a second set of chains. I have 3 sets.what is an fc and ff car or any other combinations for f (another letter)?
Yes, 4 high. You want to minimize the torque to the wheels in icy conditions. That's a good reason for avoiding diff locks and solid centers too.
