Wankel engines are also called rotary engines, currently used in the mazda rx8 sports car. Go look on the mazda website or wikipedia has a good article.It is a rotary engine used by Mazda. They can make some pretty serious hp when tweaked properly.

My friend the Wenkel was use on Mazada rx 7 and 8, Its uses a trinangle type piston that rotates with each combustion cycle.It was made in Germany and if you look at the original designs of the corvette zr1 it was ment to have 4 Wenkels fuse together to make one hell of a fast car.
Basicaly its small size 1.3 liter in the rx7s at a redline of 9k+ makes it power house for street racing.
Around 70k its needs a ring job, that realy dont uses rings.
Any way they are a cheap fast fuel miser car that is easy to find.
