this may sound like a stupid question but i really dont know anything about automobiles. i need to get somewhere 35miles from where i live and my parents are away. i have a 1995 s-10 truck and i have trouble getting it to 65-70mph that is unless im going downhill. just fixed the oil and wondering if it will make it w/out the engine failing. unsure about the mileage of it. and my dad just fixed everything up. any advice is great ty.

If the truck won't do 65 - 70 mph without trouble, just keep the speed down below that. Thirty-five miles is not that big a distance. Make sure you have the right amount of oil, and check radiator for antifreeze, and you should be good to go.The most important thing is you fixed the oil. If the oil was still broke I would tell you not to even think about going 35 miles. The oil Company's recommend that you don't drive more then 15 miles on broken oil. Since your Dad just fixed everything and you have his jeans in you ,I would go for it. If at all possible try to pick a route that is down hill in both directions just to play it safe.
