Sounds like your to act as an intermediary. You tell the shipper that you've gotten the package. You tell the people who are to pick it up that the package is ready to be picked up and then let the company know when the transaction is complete.

I think your partner wants you to notify whoever the package is ultimately for, that it has arrived.
I would contact your partner to be sure though.
