Question:
Its a 1994 Chevy Extended Cab 6.5 Turbo Diesel
Answers:
Can some one explain the logic?
If your complaint is... engine dies when hot and will not restart until it cools...Is there any way I can run a license plate myself?
The engine in your vehicle has a electronic injection pump. On the left side of the pump is a small black box called a driver module. The 6.5 engine is famous for this module overheating and causing this exact problem (I have changed dozens and dozens of driver module's). The next time this happens to you, poor some water over the injection pump/driver module. If it starts, your module is failing. Once it gets real bad... you will need a tow.
can non power steering car converted into power steering car.?
If you are mechanically inclined, you can change this part in roughly 1-2 hours. I have seen on other vehicles a aftermarket heat-sync. I don't know where the customers bought it. If you can get one... with a thin flat screw driver, unplug the driver module. Simply plug in the new module and bolt it to the heat-sync.
If you can not find this aftermarket part... You must remove the intake manifold (clean and replace the gasket). Then unscrew the module from the pump (you do not need to move or remove the pump to remove the module).
NOTE: Which ever method you choose, you must remove the small resistor chip from the old module and install it in the new module. This chip is located in the module connector and can be removed using a small pick. This resistor is a calibration device that can be different from pump to pump.
Does anyone know the identity of the mystery driver on Top Gear?
I know this is going to sound stupid but did you check the fuel? If it has fuel is the fuel pump working. Because if it's getting fuel and Air and it is cranking over it should start.loose battery cable...does it crank..questions are free. include some info...
A very fast car for £10000 max, what would you go for?
Out of fuel. Bad fuel pump. Clogged fuel filter. Bad injector timing. Bad computer. Could be any of these. If a diesel has fuel, and it is injected at the proper time, it should run. Take it to a mechanic that specializes in diesels. After you make sure there is fuel in the tank, of course.Honda CRF230 Or Yamaha TT-R230?
Diesel Fuel; very dirty fuel i would replace the fuel filter frist then maybe if that don't work it may be a cloged injector, good luck. When they become more affordable, would anyone buy an electric car like the Tesla Roadster?
A diesel engine usually has 2 basic problems, fuel filter or air filter, if it was smoking alot before , it's air filter, if it wasn't smoking alot, it's the fuel filter, now beyond that you have pump failure, the new electronic types , can have electronic problems and it's possible to be shut down by low oil senser or bad low oil sensor, but i keep it simple, if it's smoking alot air, if losing power and not smoking fuel filterIf you run the tank low on diesel then it will condensate and put water in the fuel...
Check your fuel pump and make sure its working, If thats not your problem check your battery cables. If it is cold outside make sure that your glow plugs are working correctly. Another thing that it could be is the fuel. Make sure that it is Diesel and not gasoline. Diesels have a safty switch that will turn off your truck if it sences that the fuel is not diesel. Also make sure that you dont have water in your system or an air lock.
