Just wanted to hear from owners of Cobalt SS's to see if any of them were running Regular Gas. I am considering buying this car but am sick of paying for premium gas (Grand Prix GTP). So far the only information I found from the GM website is that they "recommend" premium.

Been Running regular since I bought the vehicle in July, now has 9700 miles on it and it has not been a problem whatsoever, no knocking or pinging, in fact, very good performance. Now if your thinking about getting the Supercharged, which I do not have, just the regular SS, I would definitely run premium. Mine is Rally Yellow, very sharp car. If you decide to get one, Good Luck with it! Also go with the Pioneer radio upgrade with the subwoofer, Awesome!! I actually asked the salesman this question and he stated that, yes, premium gas should be run in the supercharged. The Rally Yellow gets enough attention, the last thing I need is a supercharger!!

You have to run premium with the ss supercharged. I have one, I know. when you run regular, it runs somewhat rough, and may even get some minor knocking. Premium is the best way to go.More Questions & Answers ...
