Nissan altima 2005?

I'm tryin to get an in-dash dvd system in my car without takin out the original radio that came with the car ... is there any way to get the dvd system in the lil comparment on top of the radio? I went to stores like best buy and circuit city but they said it can be done only if they take out the original radio ... help plzz ... any ideas?
