Do I get points on my NJ Driver's License if I committed a moving violation in NY?

Yes, some states have reciprocating laws where they exchange violations. NY and NJ have this agreement. The only thing is the points are limited. Regardless of the violation you can only revieve so many points. I forget the number but it's no big deal.

a moving violation is like no seat belt or failure to yield or any law that the car and you have done when moving. yes it does go on your insurance. and no a lawyer can only lower the cost of a moving violation. if you try and fight it like saying the brakes are bad or the speed is off they will give you another ticket for faulty equipment.
