Question:
I plan to buy a middle version of one car. It comes with an optional ABS & EBD which will cost me more $$$$. I know that ABS is a safety feature, but i am not sure if i should go for it.
I plan to drive on highways, and it doesnt snow here.
Can somebody tell me if i should really go for ABS?

abs was all the rage years ago ,but has been proven to be only as good as the person using it. i can basically do the same thing by pumping my brakes which i do all the time while driving. traction control is a very good safety option since it prevents one of the most common causes of accidents(loss of vehicle control).most people are looking for a gadget to save them from an accident while they overlook the primary cause of accidents to start with(OPERATOR ERROR). it really seems that those that have the most advance vehicles are the ones that are the worst drivers since they have that false sense of security. alot of drivers that drive these huge suvs think they completely safe from harm when in fact an suv is 10 times more likely to roll over than a car and that type of accident is usually fatal or severe. so the bottom line is if you are really worried about your safety then slow down, stop talking on the cell phone and become a defensive driver like me. take a defensive driving class. so the bottom line is no fancy gadget will replace good old fashioned common sense. unfortunately this seems to be in short supply on our highways now where everyone is all too willing to risk mine and their lives to save a few minutes driving timeABS isn't critical, but it definitely is a good idea, even if it doesnt snow. suppose you had to slam on your brakes and they locked, it still wouldnt be a good situation.
1989 Honda Civic Hatchback DX with manual transmission?
I believe you definitely need anti lock breaks. The reason is, before they came installed in all cars, they weren't considered necessary. A man slammed on breaks in front of my mother and the breaks locked up, our car flipped. It was horrible and I wouldn't want someone else to experience that. When did cars start getting radios?
Yes. It is just for safety's sake.as the tyres on cars & motorcycles wears off , what happens to all the rubber.?
Let me put it straight,ig you have a car which can't do speeds in excess of 160 km/hr.u won't need ABS &EBD.....but if ur's is gonna be a fast runnibg car they are close to compulsaryMore Questions & Answers ...
