... well a friend of mine has but she wants to know, should she try to get it repaired ? The cars only worth £1000 and it could cost upto £800 to repair, apparently it hasn't been used for a year ! so no tax, mot etc & she doesn't trust a main dealer as it would be like signing a blank cheque ! we dont know any mechanics and it would need picking up, so more cost there & once its at a garage they gota do the job, but its just not knowing how much it will cost to repair thats the prob !

Look in your local paper and call out a few mobile mechanics, to get a quote, if a price is agreed have it in writing that it is a firm price as she can't afford any more, to save any attempt at a rip off by increasing the price, don't pay until the job is done including the price of the mot.Believe it or not there are some very honest people out there, easier if you could get recommends, if not ask him for some.
