Do you prefer an automatic or 5 speed and why??

Question:

Answers:

I want to get a convertible that has three seats, or at least three seatbelts, in the back. What?

5 speed. Assuming that you can still buy one, that is. All of these freakin' automatics with the "slapstick" ( see also: pointless, stupid) shifters are choking off the manual trannys anymore. The 5 speed allows more power and I prefer more control of the car anyway. With cars being more electronic these days, I really don't want a vehicle doing more thinking than me.

What is the ideal efficiency of an automobile engine in which fuel is heated to 540k, and outdoor air is 290k?

Standard. Because I have more control, it burns less gas (exspecially in the city)...yet, if you don't like messing with the clutch constantly (in slow traffic)...this type is not for you. But, I love it!! Have for years. People don't learn it because they are afraid they will become distracted. You learn it, it becomes second nature.

What are 'spoilers' for on a car?

I prefer a manual(5 speed) because you get more power control and when you get stuck behind a person who doesn't know how to shift right and you get that lag then you can control it better, Automatics do not cope with that situation too well at all. Also with a manual you are thinking all the time, whereas with an automatic your mind tends to wander because you don't have to think what gear you are in, it is a basic point and shoot interface lol.

Why is it that American brand named vehicles are losing now in the automobile industry?

I really prefer a 5 speed. They get better gas mileage and there not to bad when cruising. The only problem I have is when im driving in the city, Sometimes it can be a little anoying but it is worth is because of the gas mileage im getting. You know with gas prices on the rise you want something thats gona do go and a 5 speed gets anywhere from 3-5 MPG better.

How come everyone's cars are breaking down?

I like them both. It depends on what kind of driving I do. In rush hour traffic I much rather have auto, but for anything else I like driving stick. I do alot of commuting so I have auto. If I didn't do so much stop and go I'd have a stick!

From 1982 to 1999 I drove 4 & 5 speed cars. Then I got an automatic. I tend to lean toward the automatcs today because I'm older and it's not so rough on my legs. But the manual transmissions are not as expensive to replace should something go wrong.
