Depends what you're looking at in a car. If you're going for looks get an Indica, if nothing else it is Italian designed. But don't be surprised, after 10,000 kilometres you won't need a car stereo, you'll get heavy metal sounds from all over the car. Maruti is Cheap and is probably best if you get the latest model, a good metallic paint finish and alloy wheels, repairs are cheap so in case you total the car you won't be paying for fancy denting work and whatnot.

Overall the Maruti 800 is a better buy than the Indica, but the Indica is more spacious and looks better. I'd suggest you get an Alto, its about the same price as a Maruti 800 and its got much better looks, space and comfort.
