I got a automatic photo ticket for making a right hand turn on a red light..I thought right hand turns were ok

i want to contest the ticket because i don't think i did anything wrong... according to California laws... what can i use to dispute it?

The other thing is to make sure you come to a complete stop prior to making the right hand turn. It is possible that you did not come to a complete stop and that's when the picture was taken. If there are no signs restricting right hand turns are certain hours you shouldn't have a problem disputing it.

I have always thought that making a right turn on a red light was OK if you stop first check the left side to see if there is any traffic that may cause you to be the cause of an accident . however there are times when there will be a sign that clearly tells you " no right turn on red light " then of course it is not allowed - best to use your good judgment .

Than you have to look at the picture to see if you came to a complete stop before turning right or is this is one of the stops where there is a sign showing no right turns on a red light .
