Question:
I am about to get rid of my car because I can't afford to keep replacing exhausts that get ripped off by speed bumps. I had to get rid of the last one for the same reason. I don't drive fast, but with some speed bumps even if you crawl over them it scrapes the exhaust. I really don't believe in Chelsea Tractors in towns for environmental reasons, but I am now at the point where I need a car that has good ground clearance and this does seem to point to off-roaders. I couldn't justify anything with a large engine that causes unnecessary pollution, so I would be grateful for all suggestions of vehicles fitting these criteria, so I know where to start looking. Incidentally, not having a car is not an option, neither is buying new! Thanks

Do they sell Ford Focus in the U.K ? If so try one of those, we bought an 02 because it was higher off the ground than most front wheel drive cars we saw.Bring a measure tape with you when you go looking to buy because its high, but it still has bottomed out on one nasty speed bump.can xenon headlights be put in any car?
Get a small truck, like an s10 or colorado. Or you could do a full size, like a silverado. They are awesome trucks. I have an 01 with a V8 and it gets about 21 mpg, which isnt bad, and it won't scrape on hardly anything. Plus I have over 226,000 miles on it and it still runs great. The resale is awesome on them as well.Sounds like that could be your best option, either a small truck, or suv. Or maybe a larger car, like an impala or grand marquis.
who loves the sound of kick butt exhaust?
i have a nissan pickup. it is a four cylinder and has excellent ground clearance. the small truck route is ideal if you have a standard one. they get better mileage than auto.if you need more room get an extended cab model . there are four in my family and we are all bigger people and we used to drive one.also they get good mileage.More Questions & Answers ...
