Early 90's-300zx twin turbo (might be slightly out of your price range, but worth a look)
early -mid 90's BMW 540i (nothing like a german v8 to wake up the neighbors)
Mid-late 80's-Porsche 944 turbo (Voted best handling car in the world by car and driver in the early 80's, and pretty damn fast in the turbo version.)

Depends on what exactly your tastes are and what you would like. for 6Gs, you could get an RX7, a Mustang, a Camaro or Firebird, a 300ZX, or an older Eagle Talon/ Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Have you ever pulled up to get gas on the wrong side of your car and actually got out of the car?

You could even go old school and get a decent older 60s Mustang for around 6 grand, and have something anybody can appreciate.
