how lame is that? you go into a garage and ask for a windscreen wiper (or whatever) for a ford *Cahr* and they say "ok, but what's the model?" so you have to spell it out for them "K. A."

The trouble with British car names (and by that I assume you mean the names of cars on sale in Britain) is that nowadays they have to be pan-European, so they often go for something safe and meaningless rather than risk a disater like the Nova (which means "doesn't go" in Spanish) or MR2 (not good in French).Ozone generator for fuel saving? Does it works?
My vote for the worst name would be the Mitsubishi Carisma - inappropriate AND misspelt.

Ford UK are pretty naff, "Fiesta" why??, "Mondeo" whatever that means, at least "Sierra" is the Arabic word for car, or near enough.
Then Vauxhall "Cavalier" seems pretty pointless, at one time I remember classifying the boring family saloons as "Mondaliers"
