140mph in my previous car, 2006 Scion tC TRD Supercharged, on I-95 South.The most memorable for me, was when my Late Father tried out his newly acquired 1967 E Type Jaguar (XKE) one Saturday afternoon in 1972. I was about 13 at the time.
We hit the magic figure of 100 mph in a matter of seconds, on a quiet duel carriageway in Sheffield. The acceleration g-forces were astounding, forcing me firmly into my seat & leaving me with a mile-wide grin that remains in my memory, as vivid today as it was back then.
Maybe it's not the fastest I've ever been, but it's certainly the best.. :)
I often get late for work and hit 45 on a long stretch of normal public road, and I tell ya the wheels on my MK4 Astra 1.4LS r gna get messed up cause the roads r quite bad.
Anyway even though I know this, I still managed to get very late on a number of occations and hit 75 down the mile or so road. When I work at the other site and finnish late I love speeding on that road cause its always smooth. It's like late and I just want to get home and out of that place and that rush tends to relax me from a stressful day. It's a longer road so although I reach upto 80 on a couple of occations i've hit 95. These are like standard B- roads and they get quite narrow at some points.

Once I was at the other site and I just out of habbit started speeding upto 85 on the way home, a nice straight smooth and clear road. Who could resist. Anyway it were dark and I saw a car behind me, just the headlights though. and it was keeping up with me and I just thought 'ok some young t*ats like myself'. So I get to the mini island ready to turn left and I had to stop cause there was a car turning in from opposite. And I usually do a gradual smooth stop anyway cause I know the island is coming up and I need to turn a sharp left at the first turn. So I stop and the car behind me pulls up along my right ready to go straight and I just looked expecting to see a decent car or someone maybe I know, but guess who it was- a police car.

Shhhh... i hit 147mph in my car (Rover 600 ti - 20L turbo/ 200+bhp) the other night on way home from work ( normally keep it to a sensible 120mph) - not bad as they are only supposed to hit 140 ! You can never tell how far out the spedo is at those speeds though!The highest i've hit on public roads is 165ish on a motorbike on the A64 outside York with a few mates and funnily enough we got pulled, had a half hour lecture from a copper in a T5 volvo (how fast was HE going to catch us up?) who also rode bikes so luckily he let us off with a warning! Good old chap he was!
