Question:
for a 454 !
Answers:
Do you think car manufacturers should pay a percentage of a fine?
Your valves will melt or gasket will blow before your forged pistons break. Your forged connecting rods will break before your forged piston heads to so you don't really need forged piston head. It's cheaper without them. I don't know much about Chevy's but if the 454 is hemi diesel and everything else is upgraded to handle more horsepower then the forged pistons (it's guaranteed that the forged pistons will break first) then I would say around 1000 horsepower. Of course all other factors will come into play (octane level, quality of forged pistons, heat, elevation, maintenance, humidity, how long you want your car to last, etc.)The question is again.IS PRICE GOUGING GOING ON...Oh, thanks for calling me "baby". I needed that!
For anything: it depends. What are some of the major mechanical improvements in cars from the mid 90's to early 2000''s?
Pistons are not often the first point of failure. Main webs, rods, cranks -- they'll go first, if the mixture and timing are OK. You can put a hole in a piston pretty fast by running too lean, or especially advanced; but that's not a "horsepower" limitation.
Is lambourghini a rare car to see?
In general, forged are stronger than cast, however.
