-this summer i'm planning to get a job and partially pay for the car (she been nagging me to get one)
-she said i can't get one until high school is over & that's when i'm 17 years old.
-it's not about responsibility
-she thinks that it's too early for me to get one even at the age 16
-i need a car to practice driving and so i don't get in a accident with my parent's car.
-i'm one of those people that physically need to practice driving around being aware streets and places.
-i'm a smart girl my last GPA was 4.25
-she said i should do good in school to earn a car...ahem...i am!
-i want to go to college and that requires me to be active in joining clubs and playing sports. i absolutely hate waiting for my parents to arrive to pick me up sometimes they forget what time even if i told them that morning. i don't even have a cell phone so i have to use my friends but my friends aren't always around to let me use theirs.

Now you said that your parents don't speak english? I assume they are originally from a different country, right? They might not understand that the US is highly dependant on cars. They might not fully understand how much you want to/need to learn how to drive.

Shes worried about you, 16 really isnt old enough to be driving for most as far as im concerned either. I know how they drive, i was 16, and it wasnt good. BUT, you sound like you have your head on straight with a GPA like that, good job!My friends were very reckless. So, you should just ask her when she comes to pick you up if you can drive home(do you have a permit?) To mama, a 16 year old driving is just like a 36 year old driving, or any other age for that matter. A few of them can drive good, most suck. It's all on the individual.
