Yes. Hybrids run on either gas or electric, depending on when they're being driven: typically, electric on the freeway at steady speeds, gasoline in stop-and-go (and the braking helps repower the electric batteries). What are some things i can do to add more horsepower and torque to my truck?

Hybrid Engines require very minimal Gas.Can i smoke my tires if i use an All Wheel Drive vehicle ??
Most of the gas is burnt on the Highway for Hybrid cars due to a certain technology that limits the amount of gas used in the city. When the Hybrid slows to below 30 MPH, gas is no longer used, 100% electric. When over 30 MPH more gas is used, yet there is still a limited use of electricity.
So your answer, yes it does still use gas, but nothing compared to any non-hybrid, and if you are driving city, hardly will you ever have to fill up.
