if it was daylight it is for safety so people can see you better . most of the newer cars made today have daytime running lamps which automatically come on when you start the car. and in most states now if it is raining or snowing you must have your lights on by law. i myslef drive with mine on all the time as a force of habit, having been a bus driver which when driving you must have your lights on by law.got my 3rd driving test next saturday, any tips to calm my nerves.?

Most newer cars have day time running lights, if your car is on your headlights are on, also if it's bad weather you need your lights on. Another rule of thumb if your wipers are on your headlights are on.
