Founder Ferruccio Lamborghini was born under the sign of the Taurus; cars names come after bull breeds, except Countach (koon - tash) which in central-southern Piedmont dialect can be better translated as "Wow!";
it seems the idea came from Nuccio Bertone (founder of Bertone coachwork design company) reaction when he first saw Countach project designed by Marcello Gandini, a member of his staff who also developed further designs for Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and others.
[apart from that one, names are absolutely Spanish, not Italian]

Actually the names of the cars are associated with bulls and bullfighting. Except for the Countach, which is an exclamation of astonishment, generally used by men on seeing an extremely beautiful woman. I hope that helps.

Lamborghini is a sports car manufactured in Italy. It is a competitor of Ferrarri which is also manufactured in italy. The names are similar to names of automobiles here in the U.S. we have had cars named mustang, trans am and corvette. These words describe the freedom associated with wild horses,(mustang) american passion for driving (trans am or transcontinental america) and sleek, fast moving, convoy escorts (corvette). While these words are not necessarily indicative of the automobiles actual abilities, they stoke the passions of auto enthusiasts and assist in selling the cars. The Lamborghini's use Italian words like diablo (devil) and countach( My oh my, she's smokin') to create emotionally charged names for the feelings people get when they see their automobiles.
