Question:
Would a car with 6 cylinders be less efficient with gas than a 4 cylinder car? If so what is the difference. The reason I ask is because I want to buy a Toyota Altezza, but I have the option of a 4 or 6 cylinder version. I'm a Network Technician and drive on a regular basis. What would you suggest and why?
where can i find cheap car rentals in merseyside england.?
Thanks

how do you locate a gps or lojack device on your car?
6 cyl: more power, uses more gas4 cyl: less power, uses less gas
Depends if you just want to ride around, or if you want to pretend you're Dale Jr.
4 bangers use less gas because they are generally smaller and have less power. the 6 cylinder will use a little more fuel, but you will have more power. People generally go with the larger engines so it's easier to accelerate and tow stuff and just keep up with traffic.
sometimes that isn't true.
We went swimming and left underwear on car engine to dry. One pair was forgotten...what can i do?
Means nothing. My ride has a 5.7 that gets 25+on the highway. It is how efficient the motor is made and how well balanced,Since it is the same car most of the factors that affect fuel consumption are similar. So it comes down to cylinder size. Larger the total volume of the all the cylinder put together more fuel it will use. Also a 6c is heavier than a 4c so that will have to be considered. However, a 6c should wear more favorable than a 4c especially for short trips.
4 normally use less fuel because the more cylinders you have the more friction you have. but go for 6 it`ll have more power an torque
back again about shifting in to four wheel drive?
volcanica is right in that the number of cylinders is not as big a factor as overall displacement ,type of aspiration ,valve train design , as well as trans gearing, rear end ,wheel tire combo, all of these factors contribute to or take away from the efficient operation of an engineMore Questions & Answers ...
